The Scoop Volume #14

👋 Welcome to This Week’s Scoop

Over the past month, we’ve continued to see steady progress across customers operating 99 Spoons equipment highlighted by several strong installations in high-foot-traffic locations, along with a growing number of new sites preparing to come online in the weeks ahead.

Feedback from operators has been super positive, and more importantly, customers are responding well to having access to automated soft serve, açaí, and frozen yogurt across a wide range of environments throughout the U.S. We’re seeing more machines achieve higher daily sales, while operators continue securing strong locations through third-party services, our referral program, and their own direct outreach.

Like previous issues, this update is intended to provide a clear picture of what’s happening across customers operating 99 Spoons equipment—what operators are doing in the field, the types of locations being secured, and where we’re seeing the most traction.

We hope you enjoy this update, and as always, we welcome your feedback. We also encourage you to continue sharing your stories, photos, and videos, especially those moments where your machines are putting smiles on customers’ faces.

Recent Installations & Location Activity

Deer Park, NY – Strike 10 Lanes
(Secured by third party locations co.)

Dan O. recently installed a kiosk at Strike 10 Lanes, one of Suffolk County’s premier bowling alleys.

Strike 10 Lanes is positioned as one of Deer Park’s best-known family entertainment venues, with bowling, leagues, parties, food and beverage service, youth programming, and group events. The venue can accommodate up to 300 guests and operates seven days a week, with late-night traffic on Fridays and Saturdays—making it a strong environment for high visibility and repeat customer engagement.

This location was secured through a third-party location procurement service. Dan is currently serving soft serve ice cream at this site.

Following the successful placement, Dan immediately moved forward with the purchase of a second machine to maintain momentum with ongoing outreach and proposals in the area.

Aurora, IL – Astro Fun World

(Secured by third party locations co.)

Dana R. completed an installation at Astro Fun World, a high-traffic family entertainment venue.

Astro Fun World in Aurora is a large indoor family entertainment venue featuring go-karts, laser tag, mini golf, ropes course, zip line, arcade games, and more—designed to drive extended dwell time and repeat family visits. The venue regularly hosts groups of 30+ guests, supporting birthday parties, school outings, and private events, and operates with strong weekend hours and expanded schedules during peak seasons, creating consistent high-traffic periods.

She has developed her own brand, Sundae Fundae, and customized both the machine exterior and on-screen graphics using the 99 Spoons Owner’s Portal.

Her efforts are translating into consistent performance, with daily sales averaging 28+ cups.

Destin, FL – Homewood Suites by Hilton

Jamie W recently installed her fourth kiosk of five purchased at the Homewood Suites by Hilton in Destin, Florida.

Homewood Suites by Hilton Destin serves a strong mix of families, vacationers, and extended-stay guests, with suite-style rooms, full kitchens, free breakfast, and on-site amenities that support longer dwell time and repeat guest engagement. It also sits within the broader Destin–Fort Walton Beach tourism market, where Okaloosa County reported approximately 7.8 million visitors in 2023, making it a compelling environment for a guest-facing dessert amenity.

She secured this location independently and completed the machine setup on her own. Jamie continues to expand her presence in the Destin market and has become a reliable contact for hotel operators looking to introduce new guest amenities.

Her machines are branded under Sunset Sundaes, reflecting her independent approach to building a localized brand.

San Antonio, TX – JB Lackland (3 Kiosks)

Ovie recently completed the installation of three kiosks at JB Lackland in San Antonio, Texas, securing all locations independently.

JBSA-Lackland sits within one of the largest military installation ecosystems in the country. Joint Base San Antonio as a whole includes three primary locations plus eight other operating locations and more than 200 mission partners, and JBSA has said the installation support enterprise serves more than 80,000 military and civilian personnel. Older Air Force reporting specific to Lackland also noted a base population of about 49,000 people, supported by nearly 5,000 personnel, with more than 74,000 students moving through Lackland annually. That makes it a highly compelling environment for unattended food and dessert service, with a built-in audience of residents, trainees, and on-site staff.

This setup is unique in that Ovie is offering all three product categories—soft serve ice cream, frozen yogurt, and açaí. Each product is powder-based, allowing for simplified operations and extended shelf life.

Early activity has been encouraging, with certain days exceeding 30 cups sold per machine!

Upcoming Installations

Plano, TX – Children’s Hospital

David M’s custom-branded kiosk has been delivered to Children’s Hospital in Plano, Texas, with installation scheduled for mid-April.

Children’s Medical Center Plano is a 212-bed, full-service pediatric hospital and Level III trauma center serving North Texas. In 2024, the Plano campus recorded 214,557 patient visits, 55,790 ER visits, 8,195 surgeries, and 1,973 team members, making it a substantial, high-activity healthcare environment. The hospital operates around the clock and continues to expand, with a new patient tower opened in late 2024 to increase capacity and clinical capabilities.

This location was secured through direct outreach by David and use of the 99 Spoons DIY location procurement kit.

David’s branding, Texas Twirl, reflects a strong local identity.

Custom Branding Spotlight

One of the key advantages of the 99 Spoons platform is the flexibility it provides operators to build and control their own brand.

Recent examples include:

Scoop Dogg – Custom design by Sanders

Operators are continuing to create unique identities for their machines through:

  • Custom exterior wraps
  • Location-specific branding
  • Tailored on-screen graphics (cost associated)
  • Independent social media presence

Because 99 Spoons is not a franchise system, operators have the freedom to develop their own branding, marketing, and positioning—without approvals or ongoing royalties.

Operations Update – Cup Ordering Platform

The 99Spoons.com cup ordering portal is scheduled to go live within the next week (finally…)

Once live, operators will be able to:

  • Log in with a secure username and password
  • Order cups in minimum quantities of 2,000 units
  • Pricing: $0.22 per cup ($440 per order, excluding freight)
  • Store payment details for faster checkout
  • Receive shipments via UPS or FedEx

We appreciate your patience as this system has taken longer than expected to complete.

The platform is designed to simplify ordering and ensure consistent supply.

We are also evaluating the addition of other consumables and supplies to this section of the website, with more details to follow.

In closing…

Across all regions, customers operating 99 Spoons equipment continue to secure locations, complete installations, and establish their presence in a variety of high-traffic environments.

We’ll continue to share updates as more machines come online and additional locations are confirmed.
